LOREWISP PRIVACY
Privacy policy
This policy explains how Lorewisp collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you visit our websites, use Lorewisp Studio, join an early-access program, or play The Lore of the 10 Kingdoms.
Effective date: September 28, 2026
1. Scope and operator
"Lorewisp," "we," and "us" refer to the operator of Lorewisp and its services. The legal entity operating Lorewisp may change as the project develops; this policy does not require a particular corporate form.
Lorewisp is an online multiplayer world-building and roleplaying platform. Its services may include Lorewisp Studio, The Lore of the 10 Kingdoms, Lores, territories, settlements, properties, structures, land claims, housing, progression, professions, blueprints, quests, relics, discoveries, events, user-generated content, waitlists, early access, founder programs, subscriptions, Lore creation services, and administrative tools.
This policy applies to information collected through Lorewisp websites, applications, online worlds, forms, support channels, and related services that link to it. It does not apply to third-party services that publish their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication data
When you sign in, we may receive account identifiers and profile information from Microsoft Authentication or Microsoft Accounts, such as a subject identifier, display name, email address, profile claims, and authentication events. We do not receive or store your Microsoft password.
Waitlists and early access
If you join a waitlist or early-access program, we may collect your name, email address, country or region, Xbox Gamertag, optional age range, adult-eligibility confirmation, interests, referral source, responses, consent records, program status, and related communications.
Profiles and user-generated content
We may collect information you choose to provide in a profile or submit through the service, including character names, Lore and territory names, stories, lore, quests, blueprints, structures, artwork, screenshots, designs, feedback, suggestions, and other user-generated content. Content may be visible to other users depending on the feature and your settings.
Communications
We collect information you send to us, including support requests, legal or privacy requests, survey responses, reports, appeals, and correspondence. We may retain records of communications for service, safety, legal, and quality purposes.
Technical and usage information
We may collect IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages and features used, dates and times, session identifiers, crash information, network information, Lore activity, moderation events, transaction events, and security or diagnostic logs.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from authentication providers, payment processors, hosting and security providers, moderators, other users, and publicly available sources when needed to operate, secure, or enforce the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and administer accounts, access, roles, waitlists, and programs;
- authenticate users and attribute content, edits, activity, and audit records;
- provide, personalize, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Lorewisp;
- operate Lores, territories, properties, progression, communities, and events;
- process payments, subscriptions, founder programs, refunds, and account notices;
- communicate about access, service changes, support, safety, and relevant updates;
- moderate content, prevent abuse, investigate reports, detect fraud, and protect children and users;
- secure systems, prevent unauthorized access, debug failures, and maintain reliability;
- measure usage, understand feature performance, and guide product development; and
- comply with law, respond to legal process, and protect rights, safety, and property.
Depending on the situation, these purposes rely on providing a requested service, consent, legitimate operational interests, contractual necessity, legal obligations, or protection of people and systems.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Lorewisp Studio uses essential cookies to keep an authenticated session and help protect account access. Forms may also use an anti-forgery cookie and token to help prevent unauthorized cross-site submissions. These technologies support sign-in, security, and requested site functionality; they are not used by the current Studio application for advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking.
When you sign in with Microsoft or Google, your browser is redirected to that provider. The provider may use its own cookies and similar technologies under its privacy and cookie terms. Lorewisp does not control those provider technologies.
The current Studio application does not use analytics or marketing cookies. If we add non-essential analytics, personalization, or marketing technologies, we will update this notice with their purposes and relevant providers and request consent before using them where required by law.
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, form submission, or other features from working correctly.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including account administration, waitlist management, safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, security, legal compliance, backups, and legitimate business records. Retention varies by data type and service need.
We email you about your account status, such as when you are approved or assigned to a Lore, because you joined the waitlist; these service emails need no opt-in and say why you received them. Any other email, such as news or announcements, is sent only if you opted in, and every such email has a one-click unsubscribe. We do not email children under 13, and we send no marketing email to anyone under 18. Once your account is fully set up, we remove your email address unless you opted into email notifications.
You may request deletion of personal information by contacting [email protected]. Deletion may be limited by legal requirements, security records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup cycles, or information needed to protect other people. Removing information may also end access to a related service or program.
Requests may be processed manually. Lorewisp is not required to provide an automated deletion tool.
7. Your privacy rights
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of personal information by contacting [email protected]. Include enough information for us to identify the relevant account or request. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting, and requests may be processed manually.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access categories and specific information, correct inaccurate information, delete information, obtain a portable copy, object to or limit certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions, identity verification, and legal limits.
Residents of California and other US states may have rights under applicable state privacy laws, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, sensitive information, and opting out of certain activities. Lorewisp does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms may be defined by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a legal right.
Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland may contact us about GDPR-style rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent. You may also contact your local data protection authority. We will identify any applicable legal basis and respond within the period required by law, subject to permitted extensions and verification.
8. Children and younger players
Lorewisp supports younger players where legally permitted, but the service is not intended to bypass age restrictions or parental responsibility. Minors may use Lorewisp only with a parent or legal guardian's consent where applicable and subject to the law that applies to them.
We do not knowingly ask children to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary for a requested activity. Lorewisp may request age or parental verification, restrict features, or terminate an account where required by law or where information cannot be reasonably verified. We do not promise a particular parental verification workflow.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact [email protected]. We may request information needed to verify the relationship and respond consistently with applicable law.
9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed secure. Protect your credentials and report suspected compromise promptly.
Lorewisp uses or may use Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Authentication, Cloudflare, Stripe, web applications, and other providers. Information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where Lorewisp or its providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
10. Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, technology, law, or operations. We will post the updated policy and change the effective date. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies to future processing, subject to applicable law.
